Well today is July....heck I dont even know what day it is!!! The Thursday a week after the 4th of July, so that makes it......the 13th!!! Ok now I'm better. Tonight is Jack's night to be on dorm duty. That means he has to sit in a strategic spot in the corridor (it makes a T) and keep his eyes on the munchkins. They have study hall from 7:30 - 9:30 and lights out about 10:30. Last night we had a real eye opener, the fire alarm went off at 2:00 AM!!!! We didn't know if it was a drill or for real. Well after everyone in our building (the boys, not the girls) was evacuated, the coast was clear for us to go back in. The fire department came too, but do you know what??? The high pitched alarm that went off in our room was sooooooo loud that I didn't even hear the fire trucks! Now that's LOUD!! We found out that the alarm was set off in a room on the far end of the building where the adult teachers who are here for a week at a time stay. Soooo we came up with our own conclusion as to what happened. We figured that a couple of the teachers did some hanky panky and decided to cap it off with a cigarette!!! LOL Surprise!!!
So I think I told you all that I decided to go on a road trip to a casino about 2 hours away on Tuesday. It was a very nice drive, but long. I enjoyed myself there but wanted to leave after the traffic and before it got dark. So I'm very proud of myself for venturing out by myself in foreign territory. Tonight I did it again and went to the mall. Bought some new tennies for the Boston Trip on Saturday. Don't want another repeat of the New York Trip. I still have blisters!!
We have made new friends here. Some families live here all year round (which I would NOT like to do) and they seem to have adapted to this type of life style. Like they say, it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live here.
Don't be looking for any postcards from us as I figure the pictures I'm posting on here achieves about the same thing, plus I can write more here than on that stinkin' little card!!
We miss you guys a LOT!! My TCOC friends, my stampin' friends and my family!!! (this is Nancy talking of course)
The evening is winding down and the kids are settling in for the night. Jack should be back from his duty shortly. He is extremely tired today because of the fire alarm last night, it was difficult for him to get back to sleep. Don't think he's going to have too much of a problem tonight.
Talk to you all later and take care !!
Hugs,
Nancy and Jack
