SATURDAY, JULY 5TH, NEW YORK CITY BABY

My friend Sue Keown and I took the train to New York City and met up with Susan Garry to see the broadway show "ONCE" which won the "Best Musical" Tony.

We ate a snack at a little cafe across the street from Grand Central Station.

Then because of lack of time, we took a taxi to Broadway.  Here are pictures I took from the cab.  It was a beautiful clear day!

After we got out of the cab, we walked a bit (because the traffic was bad and we just sat there) and took pictures at Times Square.

The "Naked Cowboy".  Once I heard a lady say (in a southern drawl) "Why he ain't nekkid, he's got on tighty whities"

This is the theatre we saw "ONCE"  Click here to read what the play was about.

We went to a restaurant which used to be a church.  I had to tilt way back in my chair to get these pics, but well worth it!!  This was the ceiling!

Across the street from the restaurant was this beautiful theatre where The Phantom of the Opera was playing.  I just love these old buildings.

Then we headed back to Grand Central Station but made a stop at Bryant Park.

I tried to get pictures of the street names, I think this says FIFTH AVENUE.

And this one is 42ND Street.

Well that's about it!  We had a long long day, but it was wonderful!!
